Lockdown to Lockers
Tuesday
Very busy start to the day but had a quick look at the first flowers coming out.

In the afternoon however we rang the Vide Grenier to check if the other two ski lockers had arrived but they’d not heard back from the seller. The reminder appeared to work though, as soon as I went outside to plant a few more seeds the French phone started to ring over and over – during Matt’s conference call – so he came out shouting at me to answer it. With a break between calls we were soon off to go and collect them. No way we could fit two in the Tesla though so had to take the old car with the trailer – we must get the kit to add the tow-bar to the Tesla at some point. Seems the guy had 4 more lockers, two matched the one we bought and two didn’t, so of course we bought the matching ones. When we got them back we put them in the basement and the ‘old’ one in the hall. It does make it look a little like a school but it’s nice to have somewhere convenient to hang our coats. We’ll sort it out later.

Since the trailer was already attached (after a few meetings and work calls) we decided to make the most of it and clear the piles of branches dotted around the garden. I also cleared up a whole load more leaves into the bay. I’m starting to wonder if any jobs in the garden will ever be finished….

Too busy to check the fridge for the ingredients for pancakes, will have to settle for steak and chips, but we have the second best for desert (well third, the ham and cheese ones are better).

Wednesday
Another busy working day. With everything yesterday however we had been too busy to observe a sacred day in the calendar. So we made up for it today. Who needs real dinner when you have pancakes?! [We’re grown ups, we can do what we like!]

Thursday
It was just work and exhaustion.

Friday
Really busy day again. It’s been a long week so we deserve a treat. Firstly, we still steak left over for lunch and seemed like a good time to pretend we were a fancy subway, and I managed to sneak in the time to plant some more herbs – although my record on growing kitchen herbs is not something to be admired.

I don’t often brag about going to expensive places but when I do… it’s the Spanish petrol station! Sorry, bad joke (but I still think it’s funny). The potential for a significant rise in diesel prices has also resulted in date night. We don’t use the old car much but there are many deschetterie runs and no doubt a few other trailer needs so best to get the beast filled up sooner rather than later. I’ve also managed to find some cheap wine racks for the cellar that are going to need filling, so 3 birds one petrol station (and a supermarket).
Next stop is Bossost for dinner. The place that we’d hoped to go was either closed or just very Spanish (not busy till much later). We therefore decided to go across the road instead, I think we’ll have to change tack to really make the best of the Spanish offer, working on UK/French times and having to drive we just go out much earlier. It was a good meal though and we enjoyed it.

Back at home I had a quick 18 VR golf holes with Tonia, after I got Matt to set it up and arguing with the cat about who’s turn it was. Then had a wonderful catch up with my friend Joan. Finally time for bed.

All the best
