Pissing about in the garden
Thursday
It’s been a pretty busy week with work and generally feeling pretty exhausted. The delay in writing these up also means that I am a bit vague on what happened. It seems however that the day’s work was punctuated by a wander around the garden.
The ‘cherry’ seems to be dropping a lot more petals but heavens, there were so many bees of all different sorts all over it, there must have been well over 30, maybe they know that they are all about to die off quickly and are getting in while the going is good?! The tulip magnolia appears to be starting to come out now though which is nice.
I also managed to make a bit of time after work to start to clear some of the scrap in the front garden. It’s not a lot of progress but at least it is something. It’s also given me some straw which should be good for the beds (garden, not bedroom) and, hopefully, the wild strawberries. Unfortunately also found a dead bee and it seems that one of the local cats has been making a nest in our grass cuttings.
Friday
Early call with Lambeth. I really don’t function too well in the morning. Then a few bits to do before catching up with the PS. Now that’s done Matt wants to go round the local timber yards to see if we can get the bits we need for the kitchen. He’s been in a mood about it all week so hopefully this trip will yield some success. Sadly however none of the long shots came through so eventually ended up ordering it from Chausson. Popped into the Troc while we waited but nothing great today. Next stop, the lovely Hutchinsons. Great to see Tim, Elvina and Gianna, if somewhat brief. But we did mange to help them get rid of some stuff. And, we now have a nice garden water feature 😉
Finally over to Chausson and we may have somewhat over estimated the weight limit of the roof rack. With a bit of NZ engineering, and a good few stops for adjustment, we managed to get the stuff home safe and sound.

Matt’s off to get some food in while I finish the work I was doing in the car and get the briefing pack sent out for review ahead of next weeks meeting. Time for a quick clear up but seems that plaster dust is much like Burning Man Playa dust, no matter how many times you mop it up it dries white.
Time for some beef bourginoun and relaxation ahead of what will no doubt be another busy weekend.
