Super busy with work today. Had a wander round the grounds though and was amused to see all the footprints under the snow. Not just ours either, there’s clearly been some animals out and about around the garden.

Since it’s the 6th I needed to take down the decorations from the monkey puzzle tree. Bloody freezing! My hands were like ice and need to thaw them out in the potting shed before they can be boxed up with the others.

Yay! The electrical stuff has finally arrived for the board in the basement.

Still need to finish getting the tree down though so after work I set about that and let Matt have a rest. He’s been super busy since getting back.

Ice on the inside of all the windows this morning, it is definitely cold!

While we had initially planned to have my desk upstairs it has become clear with all the snow that it is not really possible to keep two rooms warm. Therefore another reshuffle of the living room is required.

That’s much better. It’s going to require a bit of flexibility when we both have conference calls at the same time but it works in the short term.

Headed down to Luchon after work to go collect some bits and pieces from the builders merchants. The guys down there are super friendly and the manager speaks English, so may be able to send Matt on his own in future. Glad I didn’t though. Just as we were driving past our friends places we spotted one of the couples about to cross the road. Jumped out, and said hello (bonjour). Lovely to see them if only briefly. We’ve somehow never really caught the sunset before but it looked a stunning dusky pink down the valley so had to stop on the way to the Brico.

I have no idea what or why… Do French people actually buy this and if so what exactly do they think is says?!

Back home and Matt has been doing some work on the electrics in the basement… all temporary for the moment but much safer than the old ancient wiring.

While Matt makes dinner I take the opportunity to ‘double glaze’ the bathroom!

Ok, it’s a bit budget, but reports say that I can increase heat retention by up to 50% so worth a shot. Particularly with how cold it is and the amount of snow. Anyway, time to catch up on a bit more work, then relax and chill out before an early night as we have work again in the morning.
