London fashion week – 1-8 Jun 23
Thursday
Busy with work and then heading off to the airport. We’ve gone up a bit early to stop for dinner before I head off. It was quite good actually. I quite liked the kitsch plane decor, the deep red and the food wasn’t bad either. It would have been nice to have been able to sit out in the sun too but they had an event coming in so we were inside.

After a lot of waiting around it was finally time to catch my plane and I was on my way back to Gatwick to be collected by mum – thank you!

Friday
Looks like we’ve had a delivery at home – it’s our wedding present – a beautiful new pizza oven . Thanks to everyone that contributed 🙂

After work in the morning I’m heading over to Brighton to go and see Lucy for her birthday. She doesn’t know I’m coming though so that will be a nice surprise. We’re meeting for dinner and then off to a comedy club which will make a pleasant change.

Saturday
Recovering from Lucy’s birthday celebrations and relaxing back at mums. Also went to go and pick up my dress but there’s no photos of that. Meanwhile Matt is sending cat pics. Not sure if she is dead or flirting?

Sunday
Making the most of what the UK has to offer – also known as going shopping on a Sunday. A heady luxury not possible in France.
Of course there shouldn’t actually be any need for me and mum to go shopping as I already have my dress. We’re actually shopping for Matt as currently he has a waistcoat to wear to the wedding and that’s it. But we’re less than 2 months out and there isn’t a lot up for grabs near us in France or even in Tarbes as far as I’ve seen – that is in the one shopping trip that I went on with my mother and Cress, all the other trips have been to bricos or wallpaper shops.
Anyway all of this relates to me sending a lot of pictures to Matt of various things we see that might be of interest for him and his grooms party.

Unfortunately as much as I would love to stay I have to get off back to London. Thank you mummy, have loved being home and all your help looking at options for Matt and Co. We’re definitely much closer than we were when I arrived.

Back up in London it’s time for my traditional dinner and to pick up a lovely chinese before a quiet night in and bed.

Monday
Despite having some work to do most of my day was spent trawling around London to try to find the different trousers I saw yesterday in Matt’s size. I must have been to at least 3 different Next stores across the city, west end and stratford. But I eventually have a couple of options for him to try and some shirts from Jermyn st.
Matt is on his way and pleased to be getting some updates – I have no idea what that poster is about but it’s a bit frightening if you ask me.

Once he finally arrives in London he has to run the catwalk – it’s the only time we have that we are going to be in the same place and once he decides what he wants I then need to get the outfits for Tony and Jim. I could do with a personal shopper myself.

Tuesday
Work in the morning with a break for killing some aliens with Pete. These fully immersive VR things are pretty cool but clearly I need more practice and Peter was much better than I was. He has been before though so I call cheating. Ok technically that could just be called experience but who’s counting – unless I win?!

Back off to do more shopping and see if we really do have the final outfit for the groomsmen. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, I’ve now seen all of Matt that I will do during this trip so I’ve taken the next best option – well only option – Lee is going to model for me. At least with Vicky we can also test the looks with the bridesmaids dresses to see how they work together.

May as well see what the bridesmaid dress looks like on me while we’re at it.

That was exhausting. Kind of Lee and Vicky to invite me to stay for dinner though before I head back to Pete’s.

Wednesday
Managed to sneak out of work for a bit for a walking tour with Pete to see some bits that we haven’t covered on previous similar walks, apparently I didn’t take many pictures.

I then spent the rest of my day returning items and scouring town for the remaining bits and pieces. Jim’s will need to be ordered directly to his house as there’s no way of getting them to him but we need all the stuff for both Matt and preferably Tony, I don’t want to run the risk that anything gets missed and he doesn’t have his outfit after all this chasing about.

Thursday
As if like that it is home time, and thank heavens I don’t have to go bloody shopping again for a long time. Dress in hand we are off to the airport. I wonder if they are going to worry about it being booked a child’s seat, after the 2 hours+ spent discussing with Ryan air if it could be counted as a minor and automatically put in the seat next to me, or as they were arguing, that it was an adult and I needed to pay the full fare plus seat allocation for me and the dress! Either way I’d booked the child seat and marked the ticket as Item. They didn’t bat an eyelid. So if you’ve learnt nothing else from my blog in all this time there’s a trick for you.
Time to take advantage of the other inside knowledge, that the bar at the gate area back to London is much nicer than the horrible Weatherspoons in the main terminal.

We arrived home safely, with the dress, and we can officially say that we have our wedding outfits. I’ll be dropping the dress over to Cressida’s tomorrow however as it is not safe in our house with all the work going on, the dust, dirt and general state of the place. It will be much safer with her.
