Sunshine, tanning, pools, beach, reading books, sunrises, sunsets, relaxing in robes and playing cards – we had to buy yet another pack; we buy one every single time we go away and always forget to take one with us.

Oh, and this….

Yes, we do already have a civil partnership, but that was a practical move and simply paperwork due to French inheritance. Apparently my desire for a bit more romance, and super subtle hints for the past year, haven’t gone entirely unnoticed.

Dinner in the same place many times and lots of time to spend together without fretting about something else we should be doing in the house.

As any holiday however, it had to come to an end and Tonia and Mum will be arriving at ours tomorrow. After a rather lengthy time at a very small airport, just as we were going through to the boarding lounge (it has an odd room to room thing going on there) our flight was ‘potentially cancelled’, heaven only knows what they actually said. The flight it turned out had got to the coast of Corsica and turned back to Marseille but we weren’t sure if another one would be leaving from there or not. Time to sit around and wait. A couple of hours later and there was a cheer from the crowd. I could only assume that meant we would be going home but was dispatched to find out more. We were in fact heading home a few hours late but we’d at least be home before Mum and Tonia arrived.

Finally back home and in bed at 4:05am (CET) which, as I was to come to understand, was just 5 minutes after Mum and Tonia were up to come to us.
