Starting on the DIY decorations
Matt’s on leave now but I have to get back to work. Intermittently interrupted by requests for things of course. Thankfully Matt is just off to Luchon so should have some peace and quiet.
Maybe not, seems he left the internal lights on in the car and the battery is flat so instead of getting the big shopping in the new car he has to go and get some jump leads instead. Thank heavens we still have the second car here. He’s soon back with the leads, temporary lighting for the kitchen and some bits to fix the door to the woodshed.
But it’s time for lunch. Today we are having fondue!

More work for me. Matt’s done a mighty fine job on the woodshed door, good job too as the bolts were £11 each!
Matt’s asking if I’ve seen the dead hornets yet. I haven’t so we go off to investigate. Well the nest is certainly starting to disintegrate.
Cor blimey, I wouldn’t want to get stung by that, it’s a beast.
While I’ve got some light I think I will take my lovely new wheelbarrow for a spin and do a quick bit of foraging round the garden to collect some supplies. Also found some mint.
Time for a bit more work before dinner. Apparently dinner is ready, leftover Bolognese. Matt has also bought some wine with Tonia’s visit in mind…

After dinner and I’m going to make use of some of my foraged goods and make a start on the wreath for our front door. It’s not finished but I don’t yet have the required accoutrements so this will have to do for the time being.
We then delve into the joys of French bureaucracy with accountants and insurance. It was not much fun.
Matt’s had enough and he’s off to bed. I stay up late however to appease your baying need for updates and write up Saturday for you. 1am and it’s written so I’m off to bed.
Well done both of you – it’s all work, work, work – never mind as long as it’s all done by the time I arrive!!! Ha ha xx
Ha ha ha – yeah right, all done. Still won’t be done if you come next year – although Covid might make that a reality there will still be work to do my lovely mummy xx
Now, that is the way to buy wine. Wreath coming on. Looking good.
I am finally retired. Yeah!
We’re high quality here! Congratulations on the retirement!!
Love the wreath. Glad your getting your decorations up. How’s Tonia coping ?
You’re
Tonia’s not massively keen on making decorations but she does like hers to be above anyone else’s – remind you of anything?! Will get round to finishing the wreath at some point – maybe 5th Jan 😉
The wreath looks great well done, oh and spotted your raclette cheese my fav!! Must get my raclette machine out !!!! X
Glad we have inspired you! Hopefully get the wreath finished before it goes in the recycling but no guarantees…
