Plug in baby
Woken up at the crack of dawn by calls from French accounting and insurance companies. Too early in the day to be able to deal with this so had to politely ask them to call back as I had a meeting (with my pillow for another hour).
Calls with London starting pretty early today (9am UK time – I do love being an hour ahead!) Good weekly catch up too which was nice, and my very senior colleague was even so kind as to call me ‘exceptionally courageous’. I was incredibly flattered, upon reflection I am wondering if that was a polite way of saying ‘bloody bonkers’ but I’ll take it as the compliment I am sure it was intended to be.
Quick tea and pain au chocolate.
More calls and meetings but lots of fun stuff that we’re talking about and planning for early next year so all feels very positive and as though things are moving forwards which is really exciting.
Matt and Jeff are my heroes as they been quietly working away in the background to understand my company’s accounts ready to transfer to France. Cheers guys.
Late afternoon but I think I’m mostly done so quick dash down to Intermarche on the wheel. To be honest it’s not great as there’s not a good path all the way down there so had to walk a large part of it. I only needed a plug and some chocolates though.
Thankfully, despite initial misgivings, Matt has confirmed that I did get the right one. Before I get into that, I guess I’m going to have to do something with this kindling since it is now getting frosty and damp and can’t just leave it to rot. At least that’s done, finally.
Call with Matt and Jeff about the taxes. Nice to speak to Jeff but sad that they aren’t able to come and visit.
Need to get this plug done ready for some stripping. I rewired a plug in the UK about 15 years ago maybe, or maybe they taught us which way the wires went at school?! Anyway, it can’t be that difficult. Apparently working out how to use the new fangled wire strippers is a bit more complicated however. Quick call with Matt and he’s sent me a video. Double checked that I’d wired it up the right way. Looks like we are good to go.
You can’t really just stop for 5 mins though so probably best to have dinner first. Pasta, pepperoni, sauce and cheese. Not every exciting but filling and easy.

Time to test the steamer. Seems to be working ok. Heavens, I’d forgotten how much work this was though. 40 mins and only done this small section.
Last job of the day, 3D chair jigsaw. Finally, a 5-10min job that took about 10 mins. May there be many more of these in my future and a quick chat with Matt before bed.
“Exceptionally courageous”, sounds good to me. Chocolates yum.
Fine line between genius and stupid
